I started in the Byrnes lab as a PhD student in 2022 with a focus on the spatial distribution of kelp in the Gulf of Maine. By combining field work, remote sensing, and machine learning, I plan to build a fine-scaled model of kelp and project changes under future climate scenarios as well as use Landsat imagery to look at historical changes.
